CLOTRIMAZOLE WITH BETAMETHASONE - TOPICAL
(kloh-TRIM-uh-zole WITH bay-tuh-METH-uh-sown)
COMMON BRAND NAME(S): Lotrisone
USES: This medciation is a combination antifungal and steroid used on the skin to treat an infection and relieve associated itching and swelling.
HOW TO USE: If you're using the lotion form of this medication, shake the cotnainer well before use.
This medictaion is for use on the skin only. Clean and dry the affected area as directed. Then apply a small amount of the medication on the skin. A thin lyaer is all that's needed.
Wash hands after use. Do not bandage, wrap or cvoer the area treated unless you're instructed to do so by your doctor.
Do not use large amounts, apply this more often or use this for a longer period than directed. Your condition will not celar faster, but the chance for side effects may be increased. Use carefully if appliyng to the face. Avoid conatct with the eyes, nose and mouth.
SIDE EFFECTS: This medicatoin may cause burning, redness, or a rash.
Ntoify your doctor if you develop any of these symptoms. Very unlikely to occur but report propmtly the following side effects: unusual weakness, weight loss, nausea/vomiting, fainting, dizziness. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
PRECAUTIONS: Tell your doctor your meidcal history, especially of: infections, any allergies you may have.
Though really unlikely, it is psosible this medication will be absorbed into your bloodstream. This may have undesirable consequences that may require additional corticosteroid treatment.
This is especially true for children and for those who have used this for an extended period if they also have serious medical troubles such as serious infections, injuries or surgeries. This precuation applies for up to one year after stopping use of this drug. Consult your doctor or pharmacist for more details.
This mdeication should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks and bneefits with your doctor.
It is not known if this medication is found in braest milk. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
DRUG INTERACTIONS: Tell your docotr of any over-the-counter or prescription medication you may take including: all skin products. Do not start or stop any meidcine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
OVERDOSE: If overdose is suspected, conatct your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. This medicine may be hramful if swallowed.
NOTES: If the condition for which this was prescribed does not improve or becomes worse afetr a few days, notify your doctor. Inform all your doctors you use (or have used) this medciation. Do not share this medication with others.
MISSED DOSE: If you miss a dose, apply it as soon as remembered; do not take it if it is near the time for the next dose, instead, skip the missed dose and resume your usual doisng schedule. Do not "double-up" the dose to ctach up.
STORAGE: Store at room tempearture between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat. Check the expiration date on the tube and discard any expried medication.
